The little one arrived at 10:28pm on Monday 4th March. I’m not going to pretend it was easy (30 hours of labour complete with induction, epidural and ventouse is never going to be a walk in the park) but it certainly was a very magical moment when I got to hold him in my arms for the first time. He weighed in at 8lb 2 oz (so maybe not such a little one after all!).
We spent two nights in hospital and then after that were transfered to a birthing centre where lovely midwives look after you and help you to establish feeding and generally answer any concerns you might have. We came home on Friday when he was four days old and he treated us to our first hideous night with only one hour sleep! Thankfully he was much better again last night and Hubby and I are feeling much more alive after four hours sleep! The joys of a newborn.
I can honestly say I have never felt such love and adoration for someone though, he melts my heart every time I look at him and I am so excited about watching him grow and develop into his own little character. I know it is going to be a difficult journey at times but I am sure that overall we have some magical times ahead.
