Some last minute craftings

We have only 6 days until the induction day so I am keen to keep myself busy to try and keep my mind off what’s in store! With this in mind I spent a bit of time on Etsy yesterday looking for a project to occupy a few hours today whilst the Hubby is in work. It has been ridiculously hot here in New Zealand recently as well and energy levels are pretty low at the moment (that on top of being 9 months pregnant of course!) and so the prospect of a couple hours sat quietly on the couch was a very appealing idea.

It can take a while to wade through the multitude of cool patterns on offer but I finally settled on a cute little bear hat by TwoGirlsPatterns. They have loads of lovely little patterns, especially for cute little shoes.

The pattern was an instant download which is great if you are keen to get stuck in straight away. The pattern was nice and easy to follow and included some interesting techniques (for example a way to create a cable effect without too much effort or need for swearing!). It was a pretty quick little make as well, I think it took me about two and a half hours from start to finish. The pattern comes in a number of different sizes, obviously I made the 0-6 months size for the little one.

Maybe I should make something else tomorrow as come Sunday the opportunities for crafting really are going to be reduced. We are both so excited to meet the little boy even if the process of him arriving is a little daunting!
